Actuarial Placement Opportunity

We are seeking an Undergraduate with an Actuarial, Mathematical, or Statistical/Quantitative background to join our London Actuarial team for a placement year. This role is ideal for someone looking to pursue an Actuarial career after graduating.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical and actuarial support to the Travelers Syndicate Management Actuarial team in delivering reserving, management information, planning, and underwriting support.
  • Assist in the quarterly reserving process, monthly and quarterly uploads, and data warehouse uploads.
  • Contribute to corporate planning, large case pricing, and portfolio analysis.
  • Take a meaningful role in the process improvement project, including exposure to coding in Python and SQL.
  • Assist Senior Actuarial team members in running, producing, and checking regular reports, management information, and exhibits for use in reserving and planning exercises.
  • Update and improve documentation of existing and new processes.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks to support the Actuarial department.

Requirements

  • Currently studying an Actuarial or Mathematical (or related) degree with the option to take a placement year in industry before completing the final year of study.
  • Strong analytical and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to build relationships across the business.
