Brentford FC is a forward-thinking football club that prioritizes innovation and community engagement. We're seeking a skilled Lead Emerging Talent Scout to join our Recruitment team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and recruiting elite youth football players with the potential to play for Brentford FC's First Team. This role involves tracking top U16-U21 talent worldwide, assessing player profiles, and collaborating with the Lead Technical Scout to inform the scouting process.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the identification, assessment, and shortlisting of suitable player targets for Brentford FC across all key emerging talent markets from U16-U21 age groups.
  • Work closely with the Lead Technical Scout to assess player profiles and provide recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Lead Scouts in other areas to support the identification of next-generation U16-U21 talents breaking into 1st Team football.
  • Communicate with agents and external networks to gather market intelligence and inform the scouting process.
  • Provide monthly position-specific player recommendations focusing on specified key Emerging Talent markets from U16-U21 age groups.
  • Attend live fixtures focused on emerging talent within the UK and worldwide.
  • Watch videos of potential players and file reports in line with the Recruitment Department's process.
  • Work closely with the Head of Scouting / Technical Director to ensure comprehensive due diligence on all emerging talent players of interest.

General Club Responsibilities:

Person Specification:

  • Existing high-level knowledge/experience of England youth international football elite youth players from U16 to U21 level.
  • Existing high-level knowledge/experience of elite youth international football players from U16 to U21 level.
  • Existing high-level knowledge/experience of elite youth players worldwide yet to make first-team breakthrough.
  • A strong and established network of contacts working within football at an elite level.
  • Ability to attend live games and pick out the best most suitable players for a football club's positional criteria.
  • Ability to work with data/resource to provide assessment on players in alignment with a football club's positional criteria.
  • Experience of using relevant football scouting video platforms.
  • IT literate, competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
