Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Technical Co-ordinator to join our design and build team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for coordinating all technical information on projects from inception to completion.

Your duties will include:

  • Briefing, managing and driving external consultants in the preparation and issue of production information.
  • Preparing technical specifications in line with requirements determined by the Land Acquisition budget and Technical/Sales Meetings.
  • Preparing the Design Programme and presenting it at Progression Meetings.
  • Ensuring all statutory enquiries, crossovers, sewer connections and other section agreements are submitted and pursued for their timely return.
  • Overseeing NHBC/Building Regulations applications to approval.
  • Ensuring working drawings are in accordance with the approved Planning Scheme, and ensuring discharge of planning conditions.
  • Monitoring and controlling all production information in close liaison with the Development Estimator to ensure tight cost controls are kept and information produced in line with budget estimates.
  • Monitoring and controlling the Professional Fees budget and updating fee reports on a monthly basis for incorporation into the Board Pack Report.
  • Overseeing preparation of Brochure Plans, Conveyance Plans and Sales Area drawings.
  • Attending site progress meetings and carrying out site inspections.
  • Attending meetings at various stages of projects (Land/Technical hand-over, Project Meeting, Optimisation, Progression, Technical/Sales, Budget Meetings, etc.).
  • Liaising and coordinating other parties, both internal and external.
  • Attending Subcontractor interviews.
  • Responding to site queries and resolving Technical/Construction problems.
  • Issuing drawings and information for construction purposes.
Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for an individual who is qualified as a Civil / Building Engineer or has a Construction-related degree level or HNC/HND in a built environment subject with relevant experience.

You should have a working knowledge of both house and flat construction, Building Regulations, NHBC, Party Wall Awards and associated legislation connected with the construction industry.

The ability to get on with people together with communication, meeting and management skills essential in dealing with multi-disciplined teams.

The ability to recognise problems and deal with them in a speedy and effective manner.
