About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team at the Minor Injury Unit at Stratton Hospital. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support and monitor patients during infusions and transfusions under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or paramedic.
  • Undertake dressings under the direction of a trained nurse or paramedic.
  • Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during, and after patient care interventions.
  • Assist other clinicians while patients undergo treatment or procedures.
  • Assist in raising awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted.
  • Provide accurate and appropriate information to patients within your competence.

Requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English.
  • NVQ 3 in Direct Care or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Previous experience as a HCA within a hospital setting.
  • Computer literacy and ability to use web-based IT programs.
  • Willingness and ability to undertake further skills training.
