About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacy Technician/Science Manufacturing Technician to join our team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Pharmacy Production Unit, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our MHRA licensed chemotherapy manufacturing unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deputise for the Production Manager as required, overseeing the day-to-day workload and ensuring an efficient, high-quality service is provided.
  • Work closely with the Unit Co-ordinator to manage workload and distribute staff effectively.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and development of our Quality Management System (QMS), including participation in deviation, error, and change management.
  • Supervise and participate in aseptic manufacturing activities, ensuring compliance with GMP regulations.
  • Ensure routine environmental monitoring and maintenance activities are carried out appropriately.
  • Participate in training staff at all levels within the department.
  • Manage stock control systems to ensure adequate stocks are maintained and complete stock takes and reconciliation.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Level 3 NVQ/BTEC or equivalent (e.g. SMT)
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in an aseptic unit

Desirable qualifications include a management/supervisor qualification, registered pharmacy technician status, and experience working with a pharmacy QMS/PQS.
