About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacy Technician/Science Manufacturing Technician to join our team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Technician, you will play a key role in the day-to-day oversight of workload within our MHRA licensed chemotherapy manufacturing unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deputise for the Production Manager when required, ensuring seamless operation of the unit.
  • Work closely with the Unit Co-ordinator to manage workload and distribute staff effectively, ensuring a high-quality service is provided.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and development of the Quality Management System (QMS), including participation in deviation, error, and change management.
  • Supervise and participate in aseptic manufacturing activities, ensuring compliance with GMP regulations.
  • Ensure routine environmental monitoring and maintenance activities are carried out appropriately, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Participate in training of staff at all levels within the department, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Manage stock control systems within the department, ensuring adequate stocks are maintained and responsible for completion of stock takes and reconciliation.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Level 3 NVQ/BTEC or equivalent (e.g. SMT)
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in an aseptic unit

Desirable qualifications and experience include:

  • Management/Supervisor Qualification
  • Registered pharmacy technician
