Job Summary
Chelmer Primary Care Network is seeking a skilled Physician Associate to join our team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality clinical care to patients, working closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical assessments, diagnoses, and treatment under the supervision of a GP.
- Interview patients, take medical histories, and perform physical examinations.
- Work collaboratively with the wider clinical team to deliver services that meet patient needs.
- Consult and refer patients to physicians, medical specialists, and other health professionals.
- Recommend and explain appropriate diagnostic tests or treatments.
- Request and interpret results of laboratory investigations.
- Perform specialized diagnostic physical exams and treatment procedures.
- Instruct and educate patients in preventative healthcare.
- Conduct telephone consultations and deal with routine and emergency complaints.
- Document all aspects of patient care.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- A postgraduate degree in Physician Associate Studies from an accredited PA programme.
- Membership of the Faculty of Physician Associates at the RCP, including UK Physician Associate Registration.
- Current and valid certification or re-certification by the UK Physician Associate National Examination.
Experience
- Experience in preventative medicine and chronic disease management.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to a varied and high-volume workload.
- A consistently compassionate and respectful approach to patient care.
- Effective communication skills with colleagues, patients, and other healthcare professionals.
- A commitment to continuing professional development.
