Job Summary

This role offers a unique opportunity to work with the South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils' Ecology Team. As an experienced ecological professional, you will contribute to shaping the future environment of southern Oxfordshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert ecological advice to planning colleagues on small and medium-scale development proposals.
  • Negotiate with developers and defend planning decisions at appeals.
  • Conduct practical species and habitat surveys.
  • Advise on implementing and enforcing protected species and habitats regulations.
  • Assist in responding to the Environment Act 2021's biodiversity net gain requirements.
  • Maintain effective partnerships with environmental organisations and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in ecology or related discipline.
  • Minimum three years' experience in an ecology-related role.
  • Full driving license and daily use of a car for business purposes.
