About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Youth Escort Custody Officer. As a key member of our Prisoner Escort Custody Services (PECS) team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and secure transportation of children and young people to court.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect children and young people from Youth Offender Institutions or police stations and transport them safely and securely to courts.
  • Ensure the care and well-being of children and young people during transportation and while in custody.
  • Search property and people as required, and prevent escape, self-harm, harm to others, and damage to property.
  • Ensure food and drink are available throughout the day and complete paperwork and data entry for the day.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a current driver's license, B/B1 License, and be reasonably fit. You will also need to have good written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to manage and control all situations.

Our Assessment Process

Our assessment process includes an online assessment, a briefing call, a competency-based virtual interview, and a short role-play and written exercise. All roles are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 4, and all offers of employment are subject to Ministry of Justice Enhanced Level 2 checks with Enhanced DBS (Adult & Child Barring) and satisfactory employment references.
