Diagnostic Vehicle Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Vehicle Technician to support our fleet of vehicles within the NHS. This role involves maintaining and repairing a range of vehicles, including ambulances, patient transport vehicles, and administrative vehicles, to ensure they remain in optimal condition for 24/7 healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics, mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks in line with manufacturer specifications and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Utilise diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot and resolve complex vehicle issues.
  • Liaise with suppliers for parts and equipment procurement.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Mentor and support junior technicians and apprentices.
Requirements:
  • IMI Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of diagnostic equipment and software.
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical systems in vehicle maintenance.
  • Full driving license with C1/D1 categories.
  • Previous NHS experience is desirable but not essential.
