About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vehicle Technician to join our team at East of England Ambulance Service. As a key member of our workshop team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance and repair of our fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair faults in vehicles, using advanced diagnostic equipment and software.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including servicing and inspections, to ensure vehicles are in good working order.
  • Work collaboratively with other technicians and support staff to achieve team goals and objectives.
  • Participate in a rota for 24-hour service and repair callouts, responding to breakdowns and emergencies as required.
  • Conduct MOT inspections and repairs, ensuring vehicles meet the required standards.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of technical knowledge and skills, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.
Requirements
  • IMI Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent.
  • Driving Licence with C1/D1 categories, with significant experience of driving vehicles larger than a family saloon car.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of safety practices and techniques in motor vehicle repair.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex vehicle issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders in a team-oriented environment.
