About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Trusts and Foundations Officer to join our Development Team at the British Library. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in growing and maximizing income from trusts, foundations, and statutory sources to support our transformational ambitions over the next decade.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies to secure funding for a range of projects, including conservation, exhibitions, learning programs, and digitization initiatives.
  • Manage a portfolio of trusts at the 4-5 figure level and work closely with senior stakeholders to devise compelling fundraising proposals and secure funding.
  • Support the Trusts team's stewardship plans by managing records on our database and invitation lists, and assisting with visits and events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to develop cultivation and stewardship plans, and provide excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Confident individual with demonstrable experience of trusts fundraising and excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to deal with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, including senior foundation staff and trustees.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
