Job Overview

The Satellite Welshpool Renal Unit is a diverse department, providing care for patients with renal failure from pre-dialysis to maintenance dialysis, conservative management, end-of-life care, and supporting patients through transplantation.

The role of the staff nurse within the department is diverse, and you will be afforded the opportunity to care for patients undergoing dialysis in main locations, on the dialysis unit, on our renal ward, and within the critical care setting.

The approach for caring for patients undergoing dialysis is truly multidisciplinary, and you will be working closely with doctors, specialist nurses, dieticians, social workers, psychologists, and the pharmacy department to deliver high-quality continuous care to patients within the department.

Main duties of the job:

  • The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidenced-based nursing care, working collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of haemodialysis patients and their families.
  • The post holder will assist in the management and organisation of their clinical area and participate in the education, development, and supervision of other staff members.
  • The post holder will be expected to develop their knowledge and skills in renal nursing by working with the various renal specialist nurses and the other renal ward nurses.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
