About Our Short Breaks Service:

Barnardo's Caern Disability Services offers a unique opportunity to work with young people with learning disabilities and/or autism. Our Caern Short Breaks service supports up to 5 children and young people at any one time, aged 5-18, by providing short break respite packages to them and their families.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Residential Project Worker to join our team on a full-time waking nights shift, working on a rota basis, including weekends. The successful candidate will have experience in working directly with children and young people in a similar setting, with a focus on supporting those with learning disabilities and/or autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and/or autism in a residential setting
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with young people, their families, and carers
  • Working collaboratively with the staff team to achieve positive outcomes for young people
  • Providing a safe and supportive environment for young people to thrive

Requirements:

  • Relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above (e.g. SVQ3 children and young people) plus an HNC in social services
  • Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
  • Experience in working with children and young people with learning disabilities and/or autism
