Job Summary

Clinical Pharmacy Specialist

The Royal Berkshire Pharmacy department is committed to delivering an exceptional clinical pharmacy service. We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative pharmacist to join our team as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist.

This role offers the opportunity to rotate across various specialties, allowing you to engage with the multidisciplinary clinical team and make a meaningful impact.

Main Responsibilities

As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, you will be part of the pharmacy clinical ward team, working to deliver a high-quality specialist service to our patients and the MDT. You will have the opportunity to develop your leadership and mentoring skills, with the possibility of line managing pharmacists.

Each post has an extended rotation of 1 year, with management and project opportunities across various specialties, including Gastro/Renal, ICU/Nutrition, Admissions, Pediatrics, Surgery, Care of Elderly, Education, and Training.

Job Responsibilities

The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist is responsible for the professional aspects of the day-to-day pharmaceutical service provided by the Trust. You will work closely with other members of the pharmacy team to provide a clinical pharmacy service to wards and assist in developing pharmaceutical services.

Person Specification

Education

Essential

  • Current registered Member of GPhC
  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent

Desirable

  • Member of UKCPA
  • Diploma in clinical pharmacy or General Pharmacy Practice

Experience

Essential

  • Hospital Pharmacy Experience
  • Extensive multi-disciplinary Teamwork
  • Extensive patient contact
