Job Title: Senior Electronic Design Engineer

Location: Swindon (Hybrid Working - Approx 3 Days On-Site Per Week)

Salary: up to £65,000 + benefits

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electronic Design Engineer to join our team in Swindon. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing our next generation of embedded automation solutions.

You will work closely with our Project Manager, Product Manager, and other stakeholders to develop technical specifications, design and implement complex electronics/software projects, and support the release of products to end-users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver agreed work packages on time and to the agreed quality/standards
  • Coordinate and deliver in cooperation with other project teams
  • Assist with project planning and reporting
  • Analyse scope and requirements
  • Interpret industry standards (BS/ISO/IEC/IEEE)
  • Interpret and/or contribute to requirements and specifications
  • Design and build of hardware electronic systems including packaging
  • Familiarity with CAD packages for schematic capture and PCB artwork design
  • Environmental testing and EMC
Essential Knowledge
  • Experience of a general electronics design environment in which processor-controlled devices have been developed
  • Experience in a range of technologies including digital, analogue and power electronics
  • Experienced in writing design documents and test procedures
  • Knowledge of MV distribution systems and switchgear
  • Embedded Software
Desirable Knowledge
  • CAD software
  • Experience of communications protocols such as DNP3, IEC-101/104, TCP/IP, MODBUS
Qualifications

A good degree in a relevant subject (Electronics/Science/Engineering or equivalent), and a minimum of 5 years hands-on engineering experience.
