About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Design Engineer to join our team at Arrow Electronics (UK) Ltd. in Swindon, UK. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-voltage power electronics systems for aerospace, automotive, and defense applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop DC-DC converters for kW ranges using simulations and generate schematic capture, PCB layout, and BOMs.
  • Work with customers to understand and agree on technical specifications.
  • Perform design DVT and validation.
  • Create documentation for engineering to production handover.
  • Support released designs and NPI activities.
  • Design, specify, and test products to regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working on voltages up to 1000VDC and AC mains.
  • Understanding of safety standards for power converters.
  • Analysis and simulation of power electronics systems using tools such as Matlab and PSpice.
  • Experience in high-reliability design, including redundancy and fault tolerance.
  • Ability to implement fault sensing and protection, thermal management, and control systems.
