Key Responsibilities:- Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Lead the balance sheet reconciliation process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide guidance and training on best practices for balance sheet reconciliation.
- Internal and External Audits: Support internal and external audits, addressing findings related to balance sheet accounts across the 5 UK managed entities.
- Statutory Accounts: Assist in preparing annual statutory accounts and statutory reporting for multiple entities.
- Tax Matters: Manage tax matters including VAT, indirect tax controls, and ad hoc tax queries for the UK and Ireland activities.
- Process Improvement: Promote and manage change within the finance function, identifying weaknesses in processes and controls and implementing solutions.
- Internal Control Checks: Perform monthly permanent control checks for Group and ad-hoc internal control checks as necessary.
- Qualifications: Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with previous experience in insurance/re-insurance accounting.
- Experience: Previous experience in balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accounting.
- Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Team Player: A collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
