Financial Accountant Job Description
**About the Role**
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our Finance team at AXA Partners UK & Ireland. As a Financial Accountant, you will play a vital role in financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Lead the balance sheet reconciliation process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide guidance and training on best practices for balance sheet reconciliation
* Support internal and external audits, addressing findings related to balance sheet accounts across the 5 UK managed entities
* Assist in preparing annual statutory accounts and statutory reporting for multiple entities
* Manage tax matters including VAT, indirect tax controls, and ad hoc tax queries for the UK and Ireland activities
* Promote and manage change within the finance function, identifying weaknesses in processes and controls and implementing solutions
* Perform monthly permanent control checks for Group and ad-hoc internal control checks as necessary
**Requirements**
* Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
* Previous experience in balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accounting
* Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
* Collaborative team player with a positive attitude
