We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Digital Preservation Specialist. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in supporting the preservation and accessibility of our digital collections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional support to the Academic and Public Engagement team to raise the profile of our digital collections with internal and external audiences.
- Collaborate with academic departments to increase research and teaching use of our digital collections.
- Prepare and deliver public engagement activities, promoting our digital collections to new and diverse audiences.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of our digital public reading room to support the delivery of high-quality customer services.
- Co-curate exhibitions and be involved in the acquisition and cataloguing of digital archives, as well as the development of online resources, digital access, and web content.
Requirements:
- Possess a passion for archives and special collections with demonstrable experience of using them for research, teaching, and public engagement.
- Be a creative thinker with good interpersonal skills, confident speaking to a range of audiences including academics, students, colleagues, and the general public.
- Experience of using technology to widen access to collections would be an advantage.
