Academic Support Specialist

This is an excellent opportunity to support vulnerable students in a primary school setting. As a Teaching Assistant, you will contribute to a high-quality education programme that makes a positive impact on the lives of young people.
You will provide guidance and support to pupils, ensuring they are motivated and challenged to reach their full potential. Your role will involve implementing strategies to diffuse behavioural issues and promote a positive learning environment.
- Engage in interventions to foster effective participation of students in social, behaviour, and academic processes.
- Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver teaching activities, including those defined in Individual Education Plans.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A good standard of education, with Level 2 English and Maths qualifications.
- Knowledge of statutory requirements, including equal opportunities, discrimination, health and safety, SEN, and safeguarding of children.
- Experience of teaching children with complex needs, such as EAL, SEN, speech and language difficulties.
- Ability to motivate and encourage children appropriately, with experience of working with challenging students.
We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. The contract is permanent, term-time only (41 weeks). We also offer opportunities for professional development and training.
