Job Title: Children Nurse Community Band 6

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Children Nurse Community Band 6 to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

The Children's Emergency Department at The John Radcliffe Hospital is currently recruiting for a Children Nurse Community Band 6 to provide leadership and support to our multi-disciplinary team.

As a Children Nurse Community Band 6, you will be responsible for acting as the shift coordinator, providing supervision and support to the team, and developing, managing, and monitoring the performance of a team of nurses.

You will also assist the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in managing staff within the Emergency Department, including human resource management, clinical governance, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the shift coordinator and provide supervision and support to the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor the performance of a team of nurses.
  • Assist the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in managing staff within the Emergency Department.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Registered Nurse (Part 1, 8, 12 or 15 of register depending on area of practice) or National certification in area of Practice.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of an ongoing NMC revalidation.
  • Evidence of achievement on a Nursing and Midwifery, (NMC) approved Mentorship qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years acute care registered nurse experience.
Desirable Qualifications
  • UK recognised Degree in Nursing relevant to post.
  • Post-graduate qualification related to an area of practice.
  • Demonstrates ability to maintain and contribute to the development of standards of practice, conduct or decision making in conjunction with team leaders/ward manager/unit co-ordinator.
