About the RoleThe Children's Emergency Department at The John Radcliffe Hospital is currently recruiting for a Children Nurse Community Band 6 to provide leadership and support to our multi-disciplinary team.
As a Children Nurse Community Band 6, you will be responsible for acting as the shift coordinator, providing supervision and support to the team, and developing, managing, and monitoring the performance of a team of nurses.
You will also assist the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in managing staff within the Emergency Department, including human resource management, clinical governance, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the shift coordinator, providing supervision and support to the multi-disciplinary team.
- Develop, manage, and monitor the performance of a team of nurses, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety are achieved and maintained.
- Assist the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in managing staff within the Emergency Department, including human resource management, clinical governance, and risk management.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Registered Nurse (Part 1, 8, 12 or 15 of register depending on area of practice) or National certification in area of Practice.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of an ongoing NMC revalidation.
- Evidence of achievement on a Nursing and Midwifery, (NMC) approved Mentorship qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years acute care registered nurse experience.
UK recognised Degree in Nursing relevant to post, Post-graduate qualification related to an area of practice, and ability to maintain and contribute to the development of standards of practice, conduct or decision making in conjunction with team leaders/ward manager/unit co-ordinator.
