About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Transformation Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279). As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in facilitating business process changes and ensuring seamless integration of new systems and technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Process Change Management
    • Communicate the approach being followed to all stakeholders within the organization
    • Research and provide local knowledge of the processes requiring change
    • Ensure that clinical, non-clinical users, and management teams identify required business and organizational outcomes
    • Ensure alignment of change activities with locally agreed aims, objectives, and benefits
    • Identify change management risks and issues to relevant parties
  • Process Mapping and Re-engineering
    • Facilitate the mapping of current As-Is and future To-Be work processes by the teams involved for successful planning for each new system deployment, upgrade, or enhancement to meet identifiable quality standards, including governance controls
    • Challenge process mapping that is departmentally or organizationally limited so that opportunities for pathway-based re-design or streamlining are not missed
    • Identify, baseline, and forecast benefit opportunities that future processes will enable
    • Connect relevant service modernization, workforce re-design, and organizational development projects and initiatives within the deployment
    • Influence and negotiate new ways of working across the Trust by creating and presenting PowerPoint presentations where required
  • People Change Management
    • Promote a climate of optimism and confidence in improving services by working with staff, including administrative and clerical staff, clinicians, and managers accountable for service delivery
    • Highlight where role re-design issues arise from process mapping so that they are appropriately addressed by relevant professional support
    • Support organizational leaders to define organizational re-design, workforce management, job design, organization structure, and policies and procedures and desired cultural changes
    • Develop strong working relationships and networks with stakeholders
    • Promote and develop staff ownership of changed work processes and systems
    Person Specification
    • Experience and Qualifications
      • Degree level (ideally involving change management or organizational behavior) or equivalent experience
      • Knowledge of the NHS services locally and service modernization issues
      • Service modernization, process re-design, organizational development, and/or change management program
    • Desirable
      • Knowledge of clinical terminology
      • Full driving license and access to vehicle

      • Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues
