Residential Care Instructor Job Description

This Residential Care Instructor position requires an experienced individual with a strong background in childcare and assessment/training to support learners in achieving their goals.

About the Role:

  • The ideal candidate will have experience of delivering Apprenticeships in Residential Childcare up to Level 5, along with a strong background in childcare and assessment/training.
  • You will be responsible for assessing and supporting learners working towards Residential Childcare Apprenticeships up to Level 5.
  • This role requires flexibility and good time management skills to efficiently manage your diary and conduct timely reviews and meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support learners with Functional Skills Maths and English to Level 2.
  2. Conduct online video meetings and training sessions with learners.
  3. Organise and maintain documentation on learners' progress.
  4. Provide guidance, advice, and motivation to learners.
  5. Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner's needs.

Requirements:

  1. A recognised Assessor award: D32/33, A1, CAVA or TAQA.
  2. A Teaching qualification at Level 3 or above (PTLLS/AET).
  3. A minimum of 2 years' occupational competency as a Manager within a Children's Home.
  4. A Level 5 in Residential Childcare as a minimum.
  5. A Full, clean UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
  6. Flexibility with travel.

Salary & Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is £30,000 - £37,000+ Excellent Bonus Scheme up to an additional £10,000 OTE.
