About the Role
The Diocese of Westminster is seeking a highly skilled Safeguarding Officer to join our team. As a Safeguarding Officer, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of cases, assessing and mitigating risks, and supporting abuse survivors in our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and manage risks associated with safeguarding concerns
- Perform risk assessments to inform safeguarding plans
- Deliver training to various diocesan stakeholders
- Engage with survivors to provide support and guidance
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve safeguarding objectives
Requirements
- Professional safeguarding experience in social work, probation, or police services
- Strong organisational and detail-oriented skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- The ability to work with discretion and confidentiality
- Knowledge of current safeguarding legislation and practices
- The capacity to prioritise, manage deadlines, and remain calm under pressure
