Role Summary

A dynamic and experienced Medical Director is sought to lead the Reproductive Medicine service at Swansea Bay University Health Board. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team and contribute to providing high-quality care to patients.

About Us

Swansea Bay University Health Board serves a population of approximately 390,000 people in the Neath Port Talbot and Swansea areas. We are a University Health Board working in partnership with Swansea University, Swansea School of Medicine, the School of Health Science, and the Institute of Life Science. Our services include Morriston and Singleton hospitals in Swansea, and Neath Port Talbot hospital in Baglan, Port Talbot. We also provide community hospital and primary care resource centers offering clinical services outside main hospitals.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Reproductive Medicine service, managing a team, and contributing to the development of policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership and direction to the Reproductive Medicine team
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the service
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • MRCOG or equivalent qualification
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Post CCT substantive consultant experience
  • Full GMC registration and licensure to practice
Desirable Qualifications

Sub-specialty accreditation in reproductive medicine and higher degree (PhD, MD) are desirable qualifications for this role.

Key Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in general fertility and assisted conception
  • Detailed knowledge of HEFA
  • Relevant training in reproductive medicine
  • Able to work without direct supervision in the field of fertility/assisted conception
  • Able to manage a team and supervise junior staff
Estimated Salary: £110,000 - £140,000 per annum
