Job Summary

The Senior Bookkeeper is a critical role within our organization, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing the company's general ledger, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing timely and accurate financial information to management.
  • Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations: Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on a regular basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and receipts, ensuring timely and accurate entries, and monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable balances.
  • Payroll Management: Process payroll, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes, and maintain accurate payroll records, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare and present financial reports to management, including budget vs. actual analysis, and assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, and assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
  • Strong experience with accounting software Sage 50.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
