About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Makeup Artist to join our team at ASOS. As a key member of our creative team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional makeup looks that showcase our brand's aesthetic and appeal to our 20-something customer.

As a Senior Makeup Artist, you will work closely with our lead makeup artist and other team members to ensure seamless execution of our hair and makeup strategy. Your expertise in makeup artistry, hairstyling, and fashion will be essential in bringing our creative vision to life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the day-to-day running of the hair and makeup team, ensuring all models are shoot-ready and KPIs are met.
  • Develop and execute makeup looks that are true to the ASOS aesthetic and appeal to our target audience.
  • Build strong relationships with ASOS models, instilling trust in your makeup abilities and the wider production department.
  • Collaborate with the lead makeup artist and management team to deliver the department strategy and achieve business objectives.
  • Oversee end-of-day jobs, ensuring they are completed to a high standard.
  • Step up in the absence of the lead hair or makeup artist, demonstrating leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Identify areas for improvement within the team and implement support as needed.
  • Support junior team members, developing their skills and knowledge.
  • Deal with model issues professionally, adhering to ASOS behaviors policy.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, following catwalk shows, influencers, and street styles.
  • Encourage the team to be authentic, brave, and creative, leading by example.
  • Work with the model team to maximize each model's potential and create the best ASOS shoot experience.
  • Collaborate with the wider shoot team to solve issues on set and facilitate a smooth shoot process.
Requirements
  • Previous fashion e-commerce experience is essential.
  • Experience with different skincare and skin types is required.
  • A methodical, accurate, and organized approach with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and think on your feet.
  • Assertive and forward-thinking.
  • A 'can-do' attitude and high level of efficiency.
  • An 'unflappable' nature who can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Lots of energy and enthusiasm and be a real team player.
  • Skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, InDesign, Sitecore, and general PC/MAC operation.
