Job Description

At Greenwich PCN Alliance, we are seeking an experienced Medicine Optimisation Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective supply of prescribed medication to patients across our primary care network.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Implement a centralised repeat prescription process, including repeat intervals for long-term conditions and controlled drugs.
  • Develop and agree processes for appliance requests, stoma, continence, dressings, and ACBS products.
  • Act as an electronic repeat dispensing champion, supporting staff training and collaboration with community pharmacy.
  • Run searches and take action on MHRA CAS alerts to ensure patient safety.
  • Support patient queries related to medicines and refer complex queries to pharmacists, nurses, or GPs.
  • Identify patients suitable for virtual clinics to support quality improvement projects and clinical audits.
  • Work on health innovation network projects such as BP@home and lipid management, identifying patients and risk stratifying using EMIS search templates.
Requirements:
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • BTEC/NVQ3 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent).
  • Experience working as a qualified, registered pharmacy technician.
  • Desirable experience in primary care and GP practice environments.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary package, estimated at £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
