Job Description: Respiratory Medicine Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity for a Respiratory Medicine Specialist to work with our team at the NHS. The role involves performing and interpreting diagnostic respiratory physiology procedures, including spirometry, lung function testing, and reversibility studies.

The ideal candidate will have a BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent and experience within a respiratory physiology department. Training will be provided in specialized procedures such as Sleep analysis and Long term Ventilation.

Main Accountabilities

To ensure all equipment and resources are maintained to regulated standards and adhere to both health and safety and infection control policies.

To promote regular quality assurance (QA) and evaluate and develop clinical practice within a specialty ensuring compliance with national and local guidelines and frameworks.

To actively develop service standards including implementation of National Service Framework / NICE guidelines and promote evidence-based practice and clinical effectiveness.

Person Specification

A BSc (Hons) Degree in Clinical Physiology or equivalent is required along with experience within a Respiratory Physiology department.
