Job Summary

The Assessment and Liaison Tutor role requires the coordination, management, review and development of all aspects of assessment on the M7 courses delivered within the UK and Italy, including the integration of equality, equity, diversity and inclusion dimensions of assessment principles and practice. The role offers the opportunity to build on well-developed assessment systems and processes in place, and to enhance our ways of assessing student outcomes within academic governance and quality assurance frameworks.

Main Duties of the Job

o The coordination, management, review and development of all aspects of assessment, including in the national and international centres where the courses are also delivered, and including equity, equality, diversity, and inclusion dimensions of assessment issues.

o The Assessment Tutor will be required to liaise effectively with the Academic Registry team to ensure that the assessment process and examination boards are compliant with university partner and Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) regulatory requirements.

o To take lead responsibility for managing issues of academic integrity, in conjunction with the Academic Registry team.

o To work closely with the national and international centres to ensure consistency and best possible assessment practice, including in relation to issues of equality, equity, diversity and inclusion.

o To work closely with course administrators in relation to the assessment task.

To liaise with the External Examiners in order to provide information about assessment processes, timescales and data.

o To consult with the Student Disability Officer and other relevant staff, as needed, to ensure that appropriate assessment processes are followed for students with identified learning needs.

Job Responsibilities

The Liaison Tutor role is key to establishing and supporting strategic links between the National and International Centres and the Trust, including further developing the Trust's offer and reach. It also supports National Centres in delivering the courses within the Portfolio and promoting effective working relationships between key individuals in the Centres, and key functions within the Division.

This is a strategically important role in meeting Health Education England's objective of ensuring equitable access to trainings and pre-clinical opportunities nationally. The Liaison role might require occasional travelling to national and European centres, which may include evenings and weekends.
