Medical Instrument Technician

We are seeking a Sterile Services Technician to join our team at Ipswich Hospital, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. As a key member of our Sterile Services department, you will be responsible for the preparation and sterilization of surgical instruments, ensuring they are safe for use in operating theatres and other hospital departments.
ResponsibilitiesSome of your key responsibilities will include:
- Collecting and handling contaminated instrumentation prior to decontamination.
- Packaging instruments in accordance with hospital policy.
- Ensuring all items passed through a decontamination process have a traceability label attached or available.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. You will also require good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
