**About the Role:**

We are seeking a skilled Financial Receivables Specialist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia.

**Job Summary:**

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring due diligence is followed in actively collecting the university's receivables, ensuring all unreconciled differences and adjustments are resolved promptly and accurately in compliance with University and State guidelines and regulations.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate collection of outstanding receivables from students, parents, faculty, staff, and others.
  • Resolve discrepancies and adjustments promptly and accurately, maintaining adherence to University and State guidelines and regulations.
  • Provide responsive customer service to students, parents, faculty, staff, and others, responding to inquiries related to students' accounts in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.

**Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of State regulations related to debt collections.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to effectively interact positively with students, faculty, staff, and the general public.
  • Experience with counseling, communications, and general accounting practices a plus.
