Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Respiratory Medicine to join our dynamic team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading and managing the Respiratory Medicine department, and contributing to the development of sub-specialty interests. They will also be expected to participate in teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduate trainees.

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in Respiratory Medicine, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a commitment to continuing medical education and clinical governance.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a medical qualification and be registered with the GMC
  • Have experience in Respiratory Medicine and be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical skill
  • Be able to teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate trainees
  • Have strong leadership and communication skills
