About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Medicine Specialist to join our dynamic team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our respiratory services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert clinical care to patients with respiratory conditions, including lung cancer, airways disease, sleep disorders, and interstitial lung disease.
- Develop and implement sub-specialty interests and expand inpatient services in a new purpose-built Acute and Emergency Care unit.
- Contribute to the General Medicine on-call rota and participate in cross-site working within the Trust.
- Support the development of a service in your area of interest and drive through service change to improve patient outcomes.

Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate with a medical qualification, registered with and holds a licence to practice with the GMC, and entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Respiratory Medicine or General Medicine. Essential qualifications include experience in Respiratory Medicine, ability to demonstrate a high level of Respiratory clinical experience and skill, commitment to Continuing Medical Education, and experience of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate trainees.
