SEN Teaching Assistant Role

We are working in partnership with Northway School in Barnet to find experienced and committed SEN Teaching Assistants to work in their school in a mix of day-to-day cover, short-term and long-term roles.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to pupils with Special Educational Needs in a classroom setting. Your duties will include:

  • Ensuring pupils are engaged in lessons and completing their work as necessary
  • Providing support to pupils both inside and outside of the classroom
  • Assisting the class teacher in managing pupils' behaviour
  • Assisting the class teacher with setting up activities and displays when needed
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in an education or childcare role
  • Previous experience working with individuals with Special needs
  • The Right to Work in the UK
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to process one
  • Two references covering the last two years of employment
