Biodynamic Land Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biodynamic Land Manager to join our team at Organic Growers Alliance. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our biodynamic market garden and small husbandry stock.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day running of a biodynamic market garden and small husbandry stock.
- Organize work for students, staff, and volunteers, ensuring the integration of biodynamic principles and methodologies into all aspects of the operation.
- Develop and implement strategies for the production of vegetables and other food items, linking the produce to our residential services and Trust kitchens.
- Maintain high standards in Demeter quality assurance requirements and certification.
- Ensure the health and welfare of all stock on the farm, including livestock breeding, rearing, and finishing, as well as production of vegetables, fodder, and cereal production for farm and educational use.
- Support students in their understanding of animal husbandry and aid them in working towards recognized qualifications.
- Coordinate biodynamic events, open days, and volunteers' days in conjunction with staff.
- Deliver training in biodynamic principles for staff and members of the public.
- Participate in the Senior Management Team of Organic Growers Alliance and attend regular meetings, providing regular updates.
Requirements:
- Experience in animal husbandry to at least a small holding level.
- Desirable to be a recognized Biodynamic practitioner or have accredited training.
- Desirable to have a teaching qualification L4 or above.
- Desirable to have management experience.
- Knowledge of specialist education and ideally working with learners with learning difficulties and/or learning disabilities.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and resilience skills.
- A full driving license with access to a vehicle.
