Position OverviewWe are seeking a talented Scientific Officer to support the faculty's objectives in learning and teaching, research, income generation, and consultancy. In this role, you will assist academics in delivering high-quality demonstrations, workshops, and practical sessions in the laboratory while taking a proactive approach to developing innovative learning methods.
You will ensure that equipment and materials are prepared for both teaching and research activities. Additionally, you will manage day-to-day activities of designated technicians within the team. Therefore, a proven ability to work collaboratively, along with strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, is essential.
Responsibilities- Assist academics in delivering high-quality demonstrations, workshops, and practical sessions
- Develop innovative learning methods
- Prepare equipment and materials for teaching and research activities
- Manage day-to-day activities of designated technicians
Experience in Civil Engineering and Built Environment sectors is crucial. You must demonstrate working knowledge in Materials Science, Structural Analysis & Design, and Health & Safety. An understanding of Surveying, Geotechnics, and Hydraulics would be an advantage.
