About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Medical Microbiologist to join our team in Buckinghamshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for a doctor with a passion for infection specialities to contribute to the provision of Clinical Microbiology/Infectious disease services.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising laboratory Microbiology services, participating in further processing of specimens and interpretation of results, authorisation and interpretation of results, ward rounds, and referral service as necessary. You will also participate in teaching, research, audits, and attend meetings as required.

The role involves taking routine clinical calls, communication of critical results, attending Microbiology antibiotic ward rounds, attendance at Haematology and other MDTs, daily ITU ward rounds with consultant on call, and participation in Infection control meetings, Clinical Grand Round, and others as necessary. Additionally, you will participate in Public Health Duties: liaison with the Regional UKHSA laboratory and UKHSA who will provide support in reporting outbreaks, cluster of cases, and any other SI to the appropriate authorities.

The salary for this role is approximately £64,000 - £77,000 per annum, depending on experience.
