Medical Microbiologist

The role of Medical Microbiologist at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust involves providing a full consultation service to clinicians in both hospital and community settings. This position requires the ability to work independently, overseeing the laboratory work and participating in multidisciplinary team meetings. The successful candidate will have a strong background in medical microbiology and infectious diseases, with experience in clinical liaison and patient care.

• Provide clinical support to all hospital sites and local GPs
• Support the OPAT team in managing patients in the community
• Attend multidisciplinary team meetings for orthopaedic, spinal surgery, spinal injuries, and haematology
• Participate in daily ICU ward rounds

• Fully qualified medical doctor with experience in medical microbiology and infectious diseases
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of evidence-based practice in medical microbiology and infectious diseases

Estimated salary: £80,000 - £120,000 per annum.
