Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team in Arnold, NG5 8PZ.

The ideal candidate will have strong formal and informal presentation skills, effective written and face-to-face communication skills, negotiation and account management skills, and high level of business acumen.

  • Manage strategically important contacts and accounts across the portfolio of products.
  • Focus on retention and growth of existing accounts and expansion into new customers.
  • Drive the next evolution of Ibstock's brands with development of new approaches, new product development, and market-leading proposition.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Gold standard delivery of all agreed activities by engaging with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Development of effective relationships with key contacts within agreed accounts & region.
  • Design and implementation of business development activities to improve distribution, ROS, and onboarding of new business.
  • Catalyst for implementing change required to stay ahead of competition.
  • Work with business partners to develop, negotiate, and execute activity plan.
  • Collaborate with National Account Team to drive key plans and development of levers to innovate across established accounts and new business.
  • Develop contact strategy that builds first-class business relationships and increases selling opportunity and capability.
  • Project manage and deliver against new product development and ways of working.
  • Expertise in areas of profitability, distribution, innovation, market insights, and evolution of 'One Ibstock' approach.
  • Data-driven approach to make commercial decisions, ensuring adherence to key sales processes and systems (e.g., CRM).
Key Requirements:
  • Self-starter comfortable working alone.
  • Strong entrepreneurial instincts and ability to think creatively, analytically, and commercially.
  • Excellent communicator with good facilitation skills and influencing style across all levels of stakeholders.
  • Ability to use relevant computer applications.
