Investment Director - PE Funds & Co-Investment

Business Area: Private Markets

Job Type: Full-time

As Investment Director - PE Funds & Co-Investment, you will be responsible for leading the underwriting, monitoring, and management of indirect Private Equity investments (funds and co-investments). This role requires a strong understanding of private equity funds and a proven track record of investing in funds and co-investments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead PE co-investment and PE fund underwritings directly, responsible for key GP/sponsor relationships.
  • Participate in portfolio management by recommending solutions and suggesting changes to portfolio construction.
  • Represent USS on limited partner advisory boards and within industry, including attendance and presenting at conferences.
  • Participate in operational aspects of the PMG, suggesting efficiencies or changes in process, procedures, or structure.
  • Assist the Head of PE in managing the mandate's operations, including scheduling PE ACs and PE Team Meetings.
  • Assist the PE team with elaborating fund monitoring reports and Funds PRC material.
  • Provide line management to individual Analysts and mentor Associates and Analysts.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in private equity funds as a principal, with experience in investing in funds and co-investments.
  • Strong knowledge of private equity community relationships.
  • Thorough understanding of partnership agreements.
  • Excellent financial modeling skills and company valuation techniques.
  • Degree in finance-related subject from top-tier university or postgraduate qualification.
  • Ability to manage teams to deliver high-quality work under constrained timelines.
  • Competent at prioritization, process organization, and management of multiple workstreams.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate to fulfill investment objectives.
