About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to join our team in the Social Security Programme Division of the Scottish Government. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a key role in leading small to medium-sized projects and supporting larger and more complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply a range of analysis techniques to analyze the current state of customer organizations, including people, processes, and technology.
  • Plan, conduct, and analyze a wide range of data and process models.
  • Undertake mapping of business process flows to business rules, including business process authorization paths.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders in technical and business environments.
  • Organize, lead, and facilitate workshops with stakeholders and users.
  • Support the identification and analysis of options to deliver enhanced outcomes for citizens and organizations.
  • Creation and development of business analysis products in accordance with project requirements.
  • Develop user stories, ensuring acceptance criteria is consistent.
  • Experience of working with training teams.
  • Build a culture of continuous delivery and improvement, ensuring that key processes are regularly analyzed, maintained, and improved.
  • Explain and be a persuasive advocate for the value of user needs within the wider Scottish Government.
  • Working with SMEs to develop appropriate Knowledge Management material.
  • Identifying and creating scenarios for testing, working with testing teams in planning testing activities.
Essential Digital Data and Technology (DDaT) Knowledge
  • Strong experience of business analysis in a business, policy, or digital project environment.
  • Excellent relationship management skills working with key stakeholders in technical and business environments.
  • Experience of process mapping and business requirements gathering.
  • Experience of working within an agile, multi-disciplinary team environment, and ability to deliver iterative design components (including user journeys) to the development team.
