We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Crime Support Specialist to join our team in North Yorkshire. As an Independent Victim Advisor, you will play a vital role in supporting victims of crime, providing them with the necessary guidance and advocacy to navigate the criminal justice system.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position based in Harrogate, where you will work directly with adults and children who have been impacted by crime. Your primary responsibilities will include assessing support needs, completing risk assessments, and providing immediate and ongoing support and advocacy, including home visits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with victims, assessing their support needs and providing tailored support and advocacy.
  • Explain processes and act as a single point of contact throughout the victim's journey in the criminal justice system.
  • Develop relationships with other organisations that support victims of crime.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a digital environment and use a range of IT equipment and programs.
  • Understanding of crime and its impact on individuals and communities.
