Academic and Welfare Officer
About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Academic and Welfare Officer to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about providing excellent customer service and support to vulnerable residents.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide clear and concise information to residents over the phone regarding the Local Discretionary Social Fund.
- Assist residents with completing claim forms online, ensuring they have all the necessary documentation.
- Offer basic advice on claim assessment timescales, required information, and signposting to additional support services.
- Help residents apply for other assistance programs, such as the Priority Services Register.
- Use our computer system to record notes and complete administrative tasks.
- Collaborate with the team to achieve administrative objectives.
- Maintain proactive communication with vulnerable residents, informing them about available schemes that can aid them.
- Effective communication skills, enabling clear interactions with diverse individuals.
- Ability to approach people from various backgrounds with empathy and understanding, including those with language barriers or disabilities.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills to manage workload efficiently.
- Capacity to work collaboratively within a team to support colleagues in their duties.
- Data entry proficiency.
- Able to summarize phone calls into concise notes.
This role offers a competitive salary of £13 per hour, paid weekly, and a 3-month contract. The position requires full-time commitment, working 35 hours per week onsite in BN1. Please be aware that this vacancy will remain open until filled.
