About the Role
The Sell My Car (SMC) Marketplace Manager (Trading) will play a critical role in driving the commercial success of Carwow's Marketplace business. This position will work closely with senior leaders, collaborating across functions to rapidly diagnose and spot trends, growth opportunities, and quickly solve problems to inform business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Marketplace Health: Identify areas for continued efficiency and lead the development of operational capabilities to manage key tactical levers, initiating projects to improve marketplace health at a broad scale.
- Performance Monitoring: Become the internal expert on SMC, accountable for monitoring and reporting on day-to-day trading, working cross-functionally to identify metrics that are off track, diagnosing issues, and surfacing them to drive actions that get performance back on track.
- Performance Reporting: Prepare and lead weekly trading meetings, distilling complex information into clear, prioritized actions, following up on the impact of actions, and creating a framework that allows the team to pull the right levers based on available insights.
Requirements
- Proactivity and curiosity, along with a drive to succeed, learn, and develop.
- Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional, strategic actions, initiatives, and projects.
- Strong bias for action and experience solving complex, unstructured problems.
- Passion for data analysis and natural aptitude for problem-solving, with the ability to mold output into a clear storyline.
- Willingness to quickly learn, adapt, and apply new skills.
- A creative, entrepreneurial mentality that enjoys experimentation and is willing to take risks.
- Experience working in a Marketplace business model and overall interest in the automotive industry.
