Job Title: Primary School SEND Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with students with various SEN needs, providing individualized support and creating a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 support to students with SEN in a classroom setting, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement individual education plans, ensuring students receive tailored support.
  • Monitor and supervise students during class activities, using effective approaches to help them understand instructions and tasks.
  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behavior, utilizing positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques.
  • Nurture positive relationships with teachers, parents, and other professionals, maintaining detailed records of student progress.
  • Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, facilitating students' integration into school life.

This role requires a patient, empathetic, and supportive individual who can provide a safe and nurturing environment for students with SEN.

Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent experience
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Valid DBS check or willingness to apply for one
  • Prior experience working with students with SEN
  • Understanding of different learning styles and ability to adapt teaching methods
  • Patience and empathy when working with students
