Job Overview


The Travelers syndicate operations team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Syndicate Operations Associate to support our underwriters and wider teams in London.


Key Responsibilities



  • Perform data enrichment, importation, and geocoding of location-level risk data, including schedules of values and bordereaux, and input additional risk information required for Sequel Impact.
  • Analyze and monitor receipts for schedules of values and bordereaux, and capture exposure data, including data manipulation, cleansing, and enrichment.
  • Prepare underwriting and pricing exhibits in the Benchmark Pricing (BMP) tool for underwriting loading pre-bind.
  • Support underwriters with their renewal portfolio and collaborate with catastrophe risk modeling and other departments to ensure administrative tasks are carried out effectively.
  • Complete front sheets in preparation for risk entry and prepare null deeds in advance of offshore entry.
  • Assist with the completion of reports for GAAP, RDS, pre-integrity, and housekeeping, as well as LEMP and BRP meetings, ensuring adherence to statutory and regulatory deadlines.
  • Work towards dummy and actual month-end close and aggregate 'roll-up,' ensuring all signings and aggregate entries are completed, with any issues referred to a manager.
  • Support the delivery of training to the offshore team and update standard operating procedures as needed.
  • Respond to queries from offshore operations in a timely manner.
  • Perform quality assurance of work conducted by onshore and offshore team members, particularly BMP and aggregate completion.
  • Achieve or exceed agreed timeliness and accuracy service level agreements within the syndicate as outlined in the European Operations Service Agreement document.
  • Act in an ethical manner at all times, understanding compliance and regulatory requirements by completing necessary training and certifications.
  • Ensure fair treatment of customers and maintain adequate records of transactions with customers, brokers, and other parties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements



  • A working knowledge of systems change and project processes, with general knowledge of underwriting, claims, and reinsurance processes.
  • Detail focus with high accuracy in work.
  • Sufficient knowledge and skill to use computers and work with various applications.
  • High motivation and ability to work independently, with comfort working in a team environment.
  • Good numeracy skills to understand and work with numbers.
  • Preferably completed Certificate CII.
  • GCSE-level education or equivalent and previous experience in a similar role in the insurance industry.
