UK Civil Liberties Campaign Lead

Big Brother Watch is a leading rights NGO seeking an exceptional individual to lead our advocacy efforts in the UK. With a strong campaigning background, you will devise impactful campaigns to drive real change and co-ordinate a high-performing team.
About the RoleThis exciting opportunity allows you to leverage your experience in civil liberties, surveillance, and technology issues to drive meaningful change. You will work closely with our team to develop and execute quarterly campaign plans, manage staff performance, and foster a positive work environment.
We are looking for a highly motivating manager with expertise in project management, people management, and UK politics. If you have a proven track record of building relationships with parliamentarians, managing complex projects, and driving results-oriented campaigns, we want to hear from you.
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Responsibilities- Develop and execute quarterly campaign plans to further our strategic aims
- Identify advocacy and press opportunities to drive campaign impact
- Promote Big Brother Watch's campaigns in the media through writing articles and giving quotes/live interviews
- Build strong relationships with parliamentarians and advisors across all parties
- Manage staff performance and development, ensuring wellbeing and quality of output
- Significant experience in a similar role, including project management
- Expertise and experience on UK issues relating to civil liberties and/or data rights/tech
- Creativity and energy in managing a workload consisting of large long-term projects as well as reactive tasks
- Able to work in a non-partisan environment and build trust with MPs across all parties
- A degree in a relevant field
Big Brother Watch is a fiercely independent, diverse, and non-profit group of campaigners and researchers working to protect rights and roll back the surveillance state. We are a small, dedicated, and highly effective team of seven full-time staff and five volunteers.
